Mrs. Van Breene has been with the El Segundo Unified School District since 1991. She began her career at ESUSD teaching 5th grade and later 2nd grade at Center Street School. She became an Assistant Principal in 1999 and Principal in January 2004. Richmond Street School has earned consistently high test scores and the California Distinguished School Award under her leadership.

Mrs. Van Breene is actively involved in the El Segundo Rotary and El Segundo Chamber of Commerce Education Committee. She feels very fortunate to work in such a supportive community. She enjoys spending time with her husband and four grown children when not at work.

Mrs. Van Breene earned a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from UCLA and Master’s degrees in educational technology and administration from Pepperdine University.

Mr. Long has been an assistant principal for Richmond Street School and Center Street School since 2009.  He began his teaching career with Monrovia Unified in 1999 as a 4th grade teacher which he taught for four years, followed by five years as a 3rd grade teacher.  He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington and a teaching credential from Cal State Northridge.  Mr. Long completed his administrative credential and Master of Education at Point Loma University.  He enjoys biking, travel, reading and spending time with his wife.
