Meeting Minutes

President Barbara Briney called the meeting to order at 7:55 p.m. and thanked Suz Truax for sharing her home.  Sign-up sheets for volunteers to help with  Back-to-School activities were circulated as well as the draft of next year’s roster for correction/approval.

 

Reading and Approval of Minutes - Stephanie Fujii
The minutes of May 5, 2004 have been approved by committee as written.  The approved minutes were circulated for additional review along with the Meeting Attendance sheet (see copy attached).

 

Treasurer’s Report - Brenda Ross
The balance on hand as of May 1, 2004 was $20,440.27 with receipts in the amount of $4,674.00 and disbursements in the amount of $433.97, leaving a balance on hand as of May 31, 2004 of $24,680.30.  The treasurer’s report was accepted and attached for audit (see attached).

 

Principal’s Report - Dr. Hart
Information about upcoming end-of-the-year events were shared, including Baccalaureate, graduation, Shadow Day and the luau.  Preliminary results are in on the CAHSEE exam, 97% of the Sophomores passed the language arts section and 95% passed the math. 

 

School Board - Jo Ann Edlefsen 
Expressed how she was looking forward to graduation.

 

President’s Report/VSP Awards - Barbara Briney
Thanked those who helped to count ballots for the recent ASB election.  Mrs. Briney reported on the Sacramento trip and reported that the first shipment of bricks have been installed.  Thank you notes were read from the teachers regarding Teacher Appreciation Week.  Barbara also presented VSP awards to high school staff members Maxine Walsleben, Lynn Glotz, Ellen Covarrubias and Penny Laster.

 

New Business
It was agreed to accept the new Bylaws for 2004-2005 as presented (see motion).

 

Bills to be Paid
It was agreed to ratify checks #2313 - 2319 and to pay current bills, authorizing payments #2313 - 2319 to be drawn and the treasurer to pay the same in the amount of $3,818.01 (see motion).

Installation of New Officers
Barbara Briney acknowledged each outgoing board member by name and position.  Nominating committee chair Marva Murray installed  the new slate of officers. A gift was presented to Mrs. Briney for her service as president.
