THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE ESHS ACTION PLAN

ROLE OF SITE COUNCIL: 

 

The site council will oversee the implementation of the ESHS Action Plan.  The configuration of the site council is as follows: 

·         Four classroom teachers (currently serving:  Paulette Caudill, Ray Gen, Anthony Hawkesworth)

·         Three students

·         Two classified

·         Three parents/community members

·          Principal

 

There are currently two vacancies for teachers, one as a voting member and one as an alternate.  If you are interested in serving, please complete the attached form and return to Dr. Hart no later than Wednesday, February 2-26-03.

 

For more information concerning the site council, please reference the by-laws and site council calendar found on the ESHS web site under Site Council.  The current budget for the site council is attached for your information.

 

ESHS LEADERSHIP STRUCTURE

 

 

FOCUS GROUPS:

 

  • Focus groups will continue to meet approximately four times a year.  Configuration will include parents, students, and representatives from each department
  • Organized and “Chaired” as follows:  (1)  Curriculum (English Department Chair)   (2) Assessment and Accountability (Math Department Chair)

(3)  Student Support (Applied & Fine Arts Department Chair/Educational Advisor)   (4) Leadership & Vision (Social Studies Department Chair)   (5) Culture (Science Department Chair)

  • Will work with the ESHS Curriculum Coordinator under the auspices of the School Site Council with the goal to implement the ESHS Action Plan within the process of reviewing data, analyzing current educational practices, reviewing goals to improve student achievement
  • Will report periodically to the ESHS Site Council

 

LEADERSHIP TEAM:

  • Configuration will include:  1 parent (PTA president), Department/Focus Group chairs, 1 student (ASB President), ESHS Curriculum Coordinator, ESHS Technology Coordinator, ESHS Principal and Associate Principal
  • Will meet monthly and prior to each of the four Focus Group meetings

 

ESHS CURRICULUM COORDINATOR:

  • Teacher on special assignment with one release period
  • Coordinate the professional development plan for ESHS
  • Coordinate the implementation of the ESHS Action Plan
  • Coordinate the Focus Group meetings
  • Report progress on ESHS Action Plan to stakeholders
