This
course will provide the student with the scientific principles, concepts, and
methodologies required to understand the interrelationships of the natural
world. Students identify and analyze environmental problems both natural and
human-made, evaluate the relative risks associated with these problems, and
examine alternative solutions for resolving and/or preventing them.
Length: One Year
Prerequisite
of Enrollment: 80% in Biology I and in either
Chemistry or Earth Science
Type
of Course: College Preparatory. AP Environmental Science
prepares students to take the AP Environmental Science Exam in May (The cost of
this exam is approximately $80). Students may earn one semester of life science
college credit for a score of 3 or better on the AP Test.
Recommendation
for Enrollment: Teacher recommendation, and
a strong desire on the part of the student to succeed in this course.
Type
of course: College preparatory (pending
UC/CSU approval) and meets the life science requirement.
