Grade Levels: Limited English Proficient students grades 9
– 12 who are assessed as Early Advanced, Intermediate, or Beginning English
Proficient per the California English Language Development Test (CELDT).
Students
enrolled in English Language Development work in the state adopted literacy
intervention program, Language! Students therein also receive academic
support for their mainstream core courses. Students assessed as having
Beginning English Proficiency are enrolled in two periods of ELD. Students
enrolled in ELD 4 are concurrently enrolled in college preparatory English with
support provided in the ELD class.

Language Development Test (CELDT) of Early Advanced, Intermediate, or Beginning
