COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is designed to provide a refined
background in the knowledge required for web site; cd-rom,
and other electronically-based medium development. Software taught will include Microsoft Frontpage, Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia
Flash. Skills include HTML, graphic
design, file format management, animated GIFs,
digital camera operation, and more. Students work on personal and the school’s
web sites and on the school’s cd-roms.

OUTLINE AND STANDARDS
Based
on ESHS Technology Standards
1. Students
will learn Internet research.
2. Students will learn electronic design
to include usability and human-computer interface.
3. Students
will learn the use of various software programs to include FrontPage, Flash, and Photoshop.
4. Advanced
students will learn streaming media.
INSTRUCTIONAL METHODS
Students will learn through hands-on instruction and
practice of electronic design.
Face-to-face instruction as well as automated tech
tutorials will be used.
EVALUATION/GRADING OF STUDENT WORK
Student performance will be evaluated by design,
usability, and interface criteria as established by Nielsen’s Issues in Web
Usability (http://www.useit.com/alertbox/).
