Course Title: Drafting 2AB       

Grade Level: 10-12

Department:  Applied & Fine Arts

 

COURSE DESCRIPTION

 

Drafting 2AB is a more complex course drafting course that emphasizes dimensioning practices and advanced drawing techniques.  Students will be introduced to computer aided drafting (CAD) concepts and applications.

 

Length:  One year

Prerequisite for Enrollment:       Drafting 1AB

Recommendation for enrollment:  Consent of the instructor.

Type of Course:  Elective.  Students may enter at the semester with the consent of the instructor.  This is a SCROC course that is located on the ESHS campus.

11.       Auxiliary Views                                                                                                                       

             

11.1   Students will understand how auxiliary views are projected and used to clarify 

11.2   Use primary and, when applicable, secondary auxiliary planes and  revolutions

 

12.       Sectioning                                                                                                                               

 

12.1 Students will understand section view applications and functions. 

12.2 Incorporate section views and appropriate cutting planes to clarify hidden features or objects on drawings.

 

13        Revolutions                                                                                                                 

13.1 Prepare a revolution about an axis perpendicular to a front, top or  side plane and draw successive revolutions

 

 

 

14.       Tolerancing Relationships                                                                                                        

                14.1 Understand tolerance relationships between functional mating parts

                         Calculate and apply correct tolerancing conventions to drawings.

 

 

15.       Reprographics                                                                                                            

 

                15.1  know the accepted methods and materials used in reprographics.

                          Select and use the appropriate materials and methods to reproduce original drawings.

 

16          Assembly Drawings                                                                                                                

 

                16.1 Understand, organize, and complete an assembly drawing, using information collected from detail drawings.

 

17.         Development Drafting                                                                                                 

 

              17.1 Understand, develop, and draw flat layouts of a variety of objects.
