The yearbook that has always won memories now wins awards

The El Segundo High School yearbook
has recently won awards for excellence for it’s 2002-2003 annual from the
Taylor Publishing Company out of Dallas, Texas in the categories of layout
design and special interests coverage.
Last year’s editors Amy Thornton, Katie Hendricks,
and Sarah Vargas coordinated the layout of the yearbook which will be featured
in the Taylor Publishing Company’s 2004 Yearbook Yearbook.
Marketing manager for Taylor said of the accolades, “The Award of Excellence is
given each year to a small percentage of yearbook staffs nationwide that
demonstrate excellence in yearbook creation. We applaud these staffs for their
outstanding work and support their efforts in scholastic journalism.”
The yearbook is the source for pictorial memories for
years to come. The 2003-2004 staff is hopeful to be able to live up to last
year’s yearbook. The layout for this year’s annual was finished on April 8 and
everyone, particularly the senior class, is eager to check out its design,
which promises to be amazing. Editing seniors Whitney Levin and Samantha
Squalls said, “We feel that we can get awards, but most of all, I feel we
can exceed last year’s yearbook. This yearbook will be beautiful.”
