Applications Are Over, But is The Stress?
by Zack Roddy, Editor-in-chief

As we should all by now know (and if not, tough break) college applications deadline for all UC and Cal State schools is TOMORROW. As of late many seniors have retired their personal lives in the effort to finish recommendation packets and last minute applications, trying as hard as possible to meet their deadlines. One would think that with the application stage of our senior year finally completed, that all seniors can now rest easy and relax for the rest of the year. But is this really true? Is the stress really over? The answer is, of course, no.
Now what we all must overcome is the waiting, which is much worse, because the response to our applications is what will control the course of the rest of our lives. It might not be as difficult to bear if the letter of acceptance-or rejection, came just a few short weeks after we send our applications. This however, is not the case. UC school acceptance letters return to the sender throughout the month of March- almost four months after the original send date.  By that time, the response can either make or break your college experience, and if not accepted, students are left with limited time for a backup plan.
There is no possible way to curb the stress. The reality is that some of us will be rejected. This is just a part of the senior year experience. But, once letters are returned, seniors can finally enjoy the rest of their year, and rest until college begins.
