Welcome Miss Fissori
by Kim Keener, Staff Writer
Among the many new
teachers at El Segundo High is Miss. Fissori. Miss. Fissori grew up
in San Luis Obispo, California. Miss. Fissori attended High School
at Mission College Prep. In High school Miss. Fissori played many
sports including; volleyball, basketball, and softball. Her
favorite teachers include her college professor, Professor Applebee,
and while she was a graduate at Loyola Marymount University,
Professor Benfet. After high school she went to college for four
years at Santa Clara. Overall, after high school she went to school
for seven years.
Although Miss. Fissori has taught for about five years
she has never such dedication in studies. At her previous high
school she taught Algebra1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, and
Pre-Calculus, andAP Calculus. At her old school there were only
three teachers so she taught many subjects at the same time. She
taught at Serra High school in Gardena for three years. However, at
Serra she was used to teaching a lot of minority students. Serra
high school was also more concentrated on their Athletic program and
preparing athlete's foe their game.
Although she never imagined that she would be teaching
she still enjoys what she does. The main reason she teaches Math is
because she is bad at English. For some reason, Miss. Fissori
prefers to teach the difficult to understand high school students
apposed to the easily distracted Middle and Elementary students.
Although she has only known that she has wanted to teach for five
years Miss. Fissori has high career goals to eventually become a
college professor.
Miss. Fissori keeps her students attentive by drawing
cartoons and fun drawings on notes and task sheets. Her many
hobbies still include; basketball, volleyball, and softball. Only
recently she has picked up on Fantasy football, and college
football. In the spirit of Halloween, she is looking forward to
seeing the students and faculty all dressed up. Miss. Fissori's
favorite Halloween costume was when she was younger and played a
little old lady, which her mom made. Good Luck Miss. Fissori!
