Girls Soccer Starts Strong
By Leland Curry, Sports Writer

The girl's soccer season has started and the Eagles are off to a fantastic start. With a current record of 8-0 the team seems unstoppable this year. The team this year has a very strong defense with junior goalie Bronwyn O'Neill and super defense-specialist and team captain, Kellye Larsen blocking almost every attempt to score by other teams. The Eagles offense is comparable to their juggernaut defense with sophomore Natalie Killinger and senior Tasha Anderson wiping a path to their opponents' goal.
Their game against Mary Star was won painlessly with a final score of 7-0. The game against Culver City on the other hand showed the determination of the Eagles as they battled it out against the Centaurs with a final score of 3-2.
On Wednesday, December 13, the Eagles had a tiring match with Peninsula where they ended up on top with a score of 1-0. Tasha Anderson scored an amazing goal at nearly twenty yards away early in the first half. After that goal Peninsula put up a good defense but the Eagles kept bombarding them with kick after kick at their net. The girls went home keeping their undefeated record and are looking forward to CIF.
Their next home game is January 4 against Santa Monica so go and support the girl's soccer team. Go Eagles!
