Unaccompanied Minors
By Naomi Gault, staff Writer

Based on a true story told on public radio by Mya Stark, Unaccompanied Minors, should remain there. Not only is it a horrible story with very few entertaining scenes, it has a very played out story. Kids left by themselves, throw in two idiotic "bad guys" and troublesome kids you get the script… very similar to the Home Alone series. However, the world could deal with one naughty kid (however annoying his scream may have been), but six!? The world is not ready for that.
Tyler James Williams, Dyllan Christopher, Brett Kelly, Gina Mantegna, Quinn Shepard, and Dominique Saldana star or, for lack of a better word, act in this movie. With the exception of Williams, who stars in Everybody Hates Chris, and Kelly who some might remember being in Bad Santa, none of these kids are stars. They play unaccompanied kids who become stranded at an airport because of a snowstorm. To make matters worse, it's Christmas Eve! How will Santa ever find them? Actually, the majority of the kids are aware of the non-existence of Mr. Clause, but one of five is expecting to be found by Santa. Anyways, these six children are stuck at the airport, but of course, these five children couldn't just sit still and quiet like well behaved kids, or else there would have been no movie. They run wildly around the airport, outsmarting airport officer, Oliver Port (played by Lewis Black) and his assistant Zach (played by none other than That 70's Show's Fez, Wilmer Valderama).
This movie was basically one of the movies you will never hear about again. Not only does it steal from Home Alone, a movie that everyone has already seen and if they wanted to see it again, they could just rent it. It might not be so bad if you are ten years of age or younger, but teens should definitely not spend their hard-earned cash made by a sad minimum-waged job on this movie. The one (and only) good thing is an occasional laugh or giggle that can be heard in the theater. If you wish to be a wonderful sibling, then take a younger sibling to see it over the holiday break. Otherwise, if you really have a  desire to see the movie, wait for it come out on DVD and see a psychiatrist while you're at it.
Unaccompanied Minors is in theaters now and rated PG by the MPAA for mild rude humor and language.
