Brazilian Brabeque
By Claudia Rebora, Staff Writer

Brazilian barbeque. You would expect something quite tasty. Something that makes your senses tingle and gives you the urge to come back. Well sadly, this restaurant did not give me any reason whatsoever to come back, well maybe just on Thursday’s for the farmers market since it is down the street.

First walking in, I immediately noticed that the place was tiny, the tiniest restaurant I have ever been to if you could even call it that. You could see right into the kitchen, which I must say, is not appealing at all, yet I decided to still give it a try. With this I chose the tri tip meal with some parmesan spaghetti, since no one can go wrong with spaghetti. I then sat myself down to wait for my meal which I thought would be excellent from what I have heard from hearsay. At my tiny table I waited, and I must say that all the tables are tables for two, which is a negative because then you can’t come with group of people or you have to put the tiny round colorful tables together yourself. About fifteen minutes later my meal came on a Styrofoam plate with plastic utensils. This is no way to impress a customer and just gives the idea that there is a sense of laziness since those are thrown away, and that you are too cheap to actually buy plates. So I dug my plastic fork into the spaghetti just waiting for something delicious, and sadly, that did not happen. Instead with my first bite I got a mouth full of salt, and automatically made me want to spit it out, but that would be rude so instead I took a sip out of my Dr. Pepper. Next thing to try was the tri tip, which was actually really good. Yet the thing that blew my mind was the salad.

This restaurant did not live up to what I thought it would. It was a complete let down and I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. It does not give a sense of a restaurant and does not give you any reason to come back for more, unless you want to take the twenty minute drive for the salad, but do go when they are at the farmers market on Thursday’s because then you do not see the layout of a “restaurant” and the plastic forks and horrible plates don’t bug you. This restaurant gets a 5 out of a possible 10 only because the salad was great and the meat was really tasty.
