The Super Bowl is probably the biggest
game in sports. It comes but
once a year and features the two top teams from the NFC and the AFC.
Unlike other sports, this game is a once-and-done matter.
Baseball, hockey and basketball play a series of games to determine
the top team. Football has
only one game that brings out the best in each team.
But there is something that the other sports don’t have.
It’s the amazing commercials.
Super Bowl Sunday always features the best commercials marketing
has to offer. Last year the
top Super Bowl commercial was a woman playing tennis with Doritos in the
ball shooter. She got knocked
down because of the new bolder cheesier taste.
There was also a Budweiser commercial that featured an alien
disguised as a dog, entering the mother ship.
The head alien asked, “What did you learn on earth?”
The other alien replied, “Whassuuuuuuup!”
It was a killer. Hopefully
this year will top last year’s commercials.
Freshman Brent Bailey says, “I don’t follow football as
much as other people, but I watch the Super Bowl game because of the
hilarious commercials.” Real
football fans love the game more than the commercials, but non-football
fans just watch the game because of the commercials like some people.
So know it’s first and ten from our own 45 yard line.
Freshman Erik Troxel says, “I like the commercials a lot better. I like the commercial because it’s probably the only time
you’re not serious the whole day. I
loved the Budweiser commercial last year, it was hilarious!” That brings us to the 50 yard line, first and ten.
“I love the commercials! They
are classics. They’re all very funny and it gets you pumped up for the
game,” replies Dean
Shielly.
Okay, now we’re in the red zone, in enemy territory.
Come on football fans, where are you?
Can you believe nobody likes the game over the commercials?
“The commercials are very funny.
They are good because the game takes too long,” says Mark
Pederson. But Chris
Sanford says, “The Super
Bowl game is the best! It’s
the only time you see two teams playing for something big.”
Touchdown! Finally
someone who appreciates the game more than the advertisements.
