Senioritis: Are You Next? It sneaks up on you when you least expect it and comes in all sorts of excuses, shapes and sizes and can infect you at anytime. It's senioritis and it's infecting a senior near you. The time has come where finals are over and it's time to kick back a little, okay a lot, and get to that more important stuff like eating and sleeping. Seniors around this time are just about ready to get out of school and our minds are in total beach mode. How impossible is it to study when the days just keep getting prettier and there's more time to do other stuff? Not to mention the fact that graduation is quickly approaching and Seniors are slowly starting to slack off. Some have been unfortunate enough to be struck by this disease earlier in the year resulting in some major disappointments as far as grades go. Not only is it time for senioritis to strike, but it is also the time that seniors are most stressed because of the infamous "waiting period". Around this time, you will most likely be able to find your local senior waiting by his or her mailbox for letters from colleges stating the acceptances and refusals. If you decide to approach them during this time, please approach with caution because you might be mistaken for the poor mailman who has to deal with the consistent whining of "Why isn't it here yet?'' and "Can you please check one more time?" Seniors can be ruthless when it comes to checking the mail during this time. Hallelujah for community college because you don't have to deal with acceptance letters. You just apply and get in. It doesn't get any easier than that. But seriously, although senior year can be very kick back, there are also many tensions that go along with it. Choosing the path for your future can sound strange and downright scary especially if you have no idea where you're going. No stress! You hear that all the time but it's hard not to when there are so many decisions to make. Stress can kill and I know many of us can relate to that. During this stressful period, your best bet is to relax and try to take everything day by day. Your college acceptances will be here soon and hopefully meet up to all your expectations. Try to stay away from any Seniors you feel might be infected with this disease because it is contagious and once it starts it doesn't stop for a long time. |
