1. Opening
   SSC President Bob Pederson called the meeting to order at 3:04 pm in the conference room.

2. Approval of Minutes – December 18, 2008
   

   The minutes of the Dec. 18th meeting were distributed for review via email and at the meeting. Corrections were made to the minutes. Greg Burner made motion to approve the minutes as corrected and Adam Guy seconded. Voice approval given.

3. Principals Report
   Math Night

   On January 13th, a Representative form the Everyday Math Series came to the school. Only 5 families came but it was well done.

   Educational Garden

   We will have a Family Garden Day on March 7th.

   Nature of Wildworks Assembly

   Nature of Wildworks Assembly went well. Students enjoyed seeing the many animals.

   Rotary Club

   Rotary Club has donated 12 trees to be planted around campus. They will be put in on April 25th.

   Family Chalk Day

   On Feb. 18th, PTA is sponsoring a day for families to come and decorate the quad with chalk drawings. The theme is LOVE IS…

   Back Gates
   

   They are now locked from 8:20 – 2:45.

   PTA
   

   gave $100 to each classroom teacher who has a class roster.

   Noon League Basketball started

   2 parents are refereeing twice a week for the 5th graders. Thanks to Mr. Boyce and Mrs. Moye.

4. Review of Budget

   All funds are frozen until the state can finish the state budget. We need to focus on what we need to do for next year and will have more to focus on when we know. Our school is in a better place than most schools in the state.

5. Establish School Goals for Improving Student’s Achievement

   Marisa handed out a form with proposed school goals for 09 – 10. We looked at 08-09 goals to see where we are and what we need to do to continue then see what we need to add. We added a few lines to the draft. Marisa will clean them up and send them out for review before the next meeting.

6. Parent/Teacher/Student Survey development team

   The teams were created to come up with questions for each survey. 1st meeting will be Jan. 21st after school. We will review them at the next meeting.

7. New Business

   None

   Meeting was adjourned at 4:08pm, Lynette Marcus made the motion to adjourn and Emilee Layne seconded.
